Easy Two-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse

Easy Chocolate Mousse Recipe

Chocolate mousse! Is there anyone that doesn’t like it? I can easily have this dessert a few times a day. This recipe takes only 5 minutes and requires only two ingredients. The chocolate mousse is light and fluffy, and you can combine it with Black Forest fruit to give it a fresh and indulging taste. If you don’t want to make this creamy goodness too sweet, it’s best to use dark chocolate that has at least 70% cocoa. This recipe is absolutely egg-free and it’s good for both people with allergies and those that don’t want to eat raw eggs (a lot of mousse recipes contain either raw egg whites, egg yolks or both, and aren’t treated thermally).

Creamy Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients for 4 portions:

  • 400 ml single cream
  • 200 g dark chocolate

Easy Chocolate Mousse Preparation:

  1. Break the chocolate into pieces.
  2. Pour 200 ml cream into a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir often. When the cream starts boiling, remove from heat.
  3. Put the chocolate pieces into the cream. Using a spatula, stir until the chocolate melts and a homogenous cream is obtained.
  4. In another bowl, beat the remaining cream until soft peaks start to form. Add the mixture to the chocolate cream.
  5. Stir with the spatula until well combined.
  6. Divide the chocolate mousse into serving glasses or dessert bowls, and chill in the fridge for at least an hour.

Tip: Before serving, you can decorate the chocolate mousse with a few types of berries. For an even better finish, you can also add dark or white chocolate shavings.
