Ghost Potato Mash Ingredients:
- 600 g potatoes
- 120 ml milk
- 10 g butter, softened
- Salt to taste
Ghost Potato Mash Decoration:
- Black peppercorns foe eyes (can be replaced with peas)
- Little parsley sprigs for arms
Mashed Potato Ghosts Preparation:
- Wash and boil the potatoes. The easiest way to check if they are done is to prick them with a fork – they should give easily when punctured. The perfectly cooked potatoes are neither mushy nor hard. You can peel them after you have boiled them, it is much easier.
- Transfer the peeled potatoes into a big bowl. Mash them with a potato masher or a big fork.
- Add in the milk, butter and salt to taste and keep mashing until a smooth and soft texture.
How to make mashed potato ghosts:
- Transfer the potato mash into a piping bag or pot attached with a wide nozzle. Pipe the ghosts with spiral-like movements to form the ghosts. You can make them as little or as big as you like.
- If you have added more milk and the mashed potato ghosts are not very stable, you can pierce them with a toothpick through the middle so it won’t be visible.
- Place 2 black peppercorns for eyes (or peas) and stick 2 little parsley sprigs for arms. Your cute mashed potato ghosts are ready!
