Today is the First Day of Spring AND International Day of Happiness! Coincidence? I think not! I like the fact they fall on the same day as generally people start feeling happier, the days grow longer, the weather is much nicer, the birds start to sing and everything awakens after a deep, nourishing sleep. And because research shows that happy people are healthier, live longer, have more fulfilling relationships, are more productive at work, have more friends and earn more money, we decided to start our day with a healthy Pineapple Pear Smoothie for a good mood and will make us smile! This vitamin boost drink will fill you with energy and enthusiasm, and it’s perfect for the first days of Spring.

Tip: How to peel a pineapple


If you have ever wondered what is the best (and easiest) way to peel a pineapple, we can give you some directions.

  1. Use a sharp knife to remove the crown and the stem off.
  2. Stand the pineapple on one end and slice the skin off the sides.
  3. Cut pineapple circles. (If you need pineapple rings for another recipe or decoration, use a small round cookie cutter to cut out the core.)
  4. Cut the slices into chunks, and don’t forget to remove the core.

Ingredients for 850 ml Pineapple Pear Smoothie:

  • ½ pineapple
  • 2 pears
  • 100 ml cold water
  • 200 g yogurt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Pineapple Pear Smoothie Ingredients

Preparation:

  1. Cut the pineapple into cubes.
  2. Peel the pears and remove the pips.
  3. Blend everything together and serve.
